Design Consultation
Successful commercial environments convey the right message to clients
while at the same time being efficient and comfortable spaces where
people can work productively and happily. We spend whatever time
is necessary to really understand each client's goals and then work
closely with you to successfully create the space you want.
Commercial design services include all facets of the design process;
concept, drafting, space planning, building code and accessibility
issues, lighting and color, finishes, furniture and equipment. It
is always a priority to finish projects on time, within budget and
with minimal disruption of work.
Color Palettes
Seemingly such a simple task, choosing
colors can often be daunting. A successful color
palette, whether vibrant or neutral, combines and blends
colors that enhance each other and their space in a luminous and
harmonious way.
Design Details
Attention
to detail is crucial in successfully achieving a total concept
and feeling. This is true whether the space is grand in scale or
small and intimate. For instance, laying granite tiles on the diagonal
rather than straight can change an everyday kitchen counter into
a very interesting one. Basing a color palette on those in a favorite
painting will create a room that truly reflects who you are. Crown
molding, baseboards and trim in the proper scale can give a room
an entirely new feel.
Feng Shui
Feng Shui, the
ancient Chinese art of placement, entails creating harmonious, balanced
spaces in which to live and work. Both general overviews and in-depth
consultations are available.
Lighting Design
All too often an afterthought, lighting is a vital component to
the creation of interior space. Appropriate lighting design thoughtfully
combines task, ambient and natural light to create effective warm
interiors.
Healthcare
Whether in hospitals, clinics, homes or practitioners' offices,
creating sensitive and healing environments is exciting and challenging.
Many years of experience as a nurse in both hospital and community
settings have given Carin Cross insight into the sorts of designs
that work to make people feel more comfortable in these settings.
